Supporting Learners’ Asynchronous Dialogues in a Video-based Virtual Classroom Environment

A shift from the face-to-face lectures performed conventionally in schools to the remote ones using the computers and networks has occurred in recent years. We can grasp the meaning of this as the aspects of not only the spatial merit that the system can be used in distributed location but also the asynchronous one that learners don’t have to participate in a classroom at the same time. This article focuses on the asynchronous virtual classroom that supports anytime participants with some multimedia learning materials/tools on demand. Since the system enhances and supports asynchronous arguments using an environment to reproduce the past actions in the same classroom, teachers and learners don’t have to use this system simultaneously in such environment Especially, this contribution describes the methodologies to acquire the structures of arguments among users, to represent them, and to filter off them with some strategies.
